Inspiration

PLEASE excuse the poor photography/cropping.  As evidenced by the time stamp, these were taken/made years ago.

Once upon a time, I used to make cards.  Often.  I really should get back into it.  I have all the supplies (and then some), just not the greatest work space; though, I suppose, I've always had to "make due" when it comes to crafting space.

Anyway, I rediscovered these this evening and thought, I could make those better now.

Perhaps I should.  They always were some of my favorites to make.

My Paper World, Sketch #6

Nicola over at My Paper World does a sketch challenge every 2 weeks. I stumbled across her site too late to join the last sketch, but I made a card in time for this one.

This is my entry (again, bad picture; I should try the scanner next time):

The ballerina is from Paper Salon and the alphabet from Hero Arts(?).

I made this for Cinderella's 4th birthday, which is next week.

What do you think?

100th Post Celebration and Giveaway (Closed)

The winner of the booklet is: Don and Lisa Osborn!

The winner of the card for most seasons is: Richelle!

Congratulations!

**********

Finally! I reached 100 posts yesterday! It took me long enough.

So, in honor of this being my 101st post, I thought I'd celebrate by doing another giveaway.

Yes, it's cards again, but not the ones posted here.

I've been cleaning out my card stash, so this time I have 2 things to give away:

*The first would make a perfect gift for someone. It's a little booklet that contains 4 blank cards with envelopes:

Now, in all honesty, I did not design this. I assembled most of it, stamped it, and colored it; but it is not a Not-the-Queen original. It is beautiful though, don't you think?

*The second thing I'm giving away is a set of cards for all most seasons. Again, I did not design most of the cards, but a few of them I did. I did, however, make them all with my own two hands. I don't have pictures to show you, but if you like these cards, you'll like this set, too.

It contains cards (and envelopes) for 3 birthdays, Easter, Halloween, a wedding, a baby (gender neutral), Mother's Day, Father's Day, and card to let someone know you're thinking of them.

I always keep a stash of cards on hand, but I find myself constantly making new cards and ignoring the old ones.

Lucky you!

To win either of these, simply leave me a comment. There will be 2 winners, one for each giveaway, so let me know which one (or both) you'd like to be entered in. I'll close this giveaway at 5pm PST Saturday, February 2nd. US and Canada only, please.

Bloggy Giveaways Carnival (CLOSED)

And the winner is: #139--Maren of The Secret Stitch Club! Congratulations!
**********

Yea! I love giveaways!

Once again, I am giving away some of my handmade cards. Fifteen, to be exact. One winner will receive all 15.

And, here they are (the pictures don't really do them justice):

They are all thank you cards, and I will include envelopes.

Just leave a comment. Any comment, but only one comment. Maybe tell me which one is your favorite? I'm curious to know what you all think about my creations.

I will ship to the US and Canada. Just make sure I can find your email address somewhere.

I will close this contest at 5pm PST on Friday, February 1st.

Good luck!

I have even more cards up for grabs here.

Finished in the Nick of Time

I finally finished my Christmas cards two evenings ago. If it weren't for Prince Charming's willingness to address envelopes (!!!), I probably wouldn't have finished when I did.

Here is the insert:

Isn't that a cute picture of the girls?

Those trees were cut from the same paper that is pasted to the flap of the card.

And here is the fully-assembled, finished product:

I used up every single piece of shiny red paper I owned!

It's a slight variation on the original; I realized I didn't have enough jewels for the 30+ cards I had to make.

Of course, now that I'm done, we just heard from a friend of ours who has finally given us his address. Do I have an extra card for him? No!!!

Guess what I'll be doing this afternoon: designing another card, since I don't have any more red paper.

Finally!

I have been waiting impatiently all week for Marie to get her cards (are the pictures not working again?) in the mail. I wanted to post some pictures of what I made, but I didn't want to spoil the surprise for her.

Finally, they have arrived!

And here are a few of my favorites:

Again, the picture quality isn't that great. I could really use a scanner!

A couple of the cards are variations of cards I have designed before, but most of them I really and truly designed just for Marie.

Sometime after the New Year, Rocks in my Dryer will be hosting another giveaway carnival. Stay tuned, because I made double of everything I made for Marie (with some slight variations), and I will be giving away 20 more cards, including the ones pictured here.

So, what do you think?
